GILLETTE, Wyo. — With a weak cool front slipping across Wyoming, Gillette will see a slight chance for morning showers and cooler temperatures today.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, is forecasting a high of 69 degrees along with a 30% chance for thunderstorms this morning. Skies will remain mostly cloudy for a while as winds come from the northwest at 7–13 mph.
Widespread haze is expected to settle in this evening as skies clear and the low falls to around 47. Winds will continue to come from the north at 6–11 mph.
Clear skies will stick around a few days, according to the extended forecast. That will help bring temperatures back into the 80s as the weekend turns into the work week. Friday’s high is forecast at 71 and Saturday’s is forecast at 78. Sunday is expected to hit 81 while Monday should see a high near 82.
Overnight lows each night will fall into the high 40s and low 50s under clear skies.
