GILLETTE, Wyo. — Submissions are now being accepted for the annual Fall/Winter Parks Photo Contest, according to the City of Gillette.
Per the city, photos should be taken in a city park between Sept. 1, 2023, and Feb. 29, 2024. Entries must be submitted by the original photographer or videographer and are open to both residents and nonresidents.
According to the contest rules, each photographer may submit up to 10 photographs for the competition and each videographer can submit up to five videos no more than 10 seconds in length. Submissions should depict a park within city limits and must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on March 1, 2024.
Residents may enter the adult contest for ages 19 and up or the youth contest for ages 18 and under, the city says. For this contest, there are three categories: General Photos, Nature and Wildlife Photos and Activities Videos. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges representing the Mayor of Gillette, the Gillette City Council, the City Parks and Beautification Board and others who are available or needed.
First-place winners in each category will receive a $50 gift card while second-place winners receive a $25 gift card, the city says.
