GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the following incidents on Wednesday, Sept. 13:
- At 5:37 a.m. to Mecent Avenue for an emergency medical response.
- At 8:06 a.m. to Sandcreek Court for an emergency medical response.
- At 10:56 a.m. to Sandcreek Court for an emergency medical response.
- At 10:19 a.m. to North Gillette Avenue for an emergency medical response.
- At 2:33 p.m. to Emerald Avenue for an emergency medical response.
- At 4:25 p.m. to the 1000 block of Collins Road for a timber fire. The fire was contained at 1 acre and was started by lightning. Sixteen firefighters and one chief from Campbell County Fire Department responded to the call. CCFD was assisted on scene by the Bureau of Land Management.
- At 5:08 p.m. to the 100 block of Wright Boulevard for smoke in a building. Firefighters found that cooking equipment malfunctioned and caused the smoke.
- At 8:21 p.m. to the 3200 block of Sutherland Drive for a single-vehicle accident.
- At 8:40 p.m. to the 7500 block of South Highway 59 for a grass fire. The fire was estimated at 200 acres and was started by lightning. Ten firefighters and one chief from Campbell County Fire Department responded to the call.
- At 9:14 p.m. to the area of South Highway 59 and Breen Road for a grass fire. Firefighters were unable to locate the fire after rain had moved through the area.
Year to date, the Campbell County Fire Department has responded to 2,028 requests for service.
