GILLETTE, Wyo. — Tonight, the Campbell County School District recognized employees who, as longtime teacher and now Board Chair Anne Ochs said, have the power to make a child’s day.
“You are the first face that our kids see in the morning, and you may set the tone for the rest of the day for that child,” she said in closing remarks regarding the transportation employees who received recognition tonight.
Transportation Director Jerry Bowman named an employee per month of the 2022–23 school year and a transportation employee of the year.

Simeonov was named the employee of the year.
Bowman said that it was very hard to make the decision of who would receive that award, as each individual deserved it.
Simeonov has been very helpful in the department and has worked hard to improve his skills, Bowman said. After being a bus driver, he became a mechanic’s apprentice and then a mechanic. Simeonov consistently asks if there is something else that he can do to help the department.
Gliem and Hendricks have left employment with the district, Bowman said. Hendricks retired.
