GILLETTE, Wyo. — Elthon Caballero, 12, has been identified as the boy who died following a Sept. 11 single-vehicle rollover on Adon Road, according to the Campbell County Coroner’s Office.

Caballero was a passenger in a 2008 Toyota operated by a 17-year-old boy on Adon Road around 11:11 p.m. While trying to get a moth out of the vehicle, the older boy lost control, left the roadway and rolled twice upon reentering the road, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds told reporters on Sept. 12.

Per the sheriff’s office report, Caballero was ejected from the vehicle and was found unresponsive. Emergency personnel performed life-saving measures on him before transporting him to Campbell County Health, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.

The official cause of death has been listed as head and chest trauma stemming from a single-vehicle rollover, Campbell County Coroner Paul Wallem told County 17 on Sept. 12.

According to Reynolds, the 17-year-old boy did not appear to have any injuries and displayed no signs of impairment.
