GILLETTE, Wyo. — The annual remembrance ceremony and stair climb events are set to take place on Monday, Sept. 11, the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The remembrance ceremony will take place at Firestation 1, 106 Rohan Ave., at 10 a.m. with opening remarks offered by Fire Chief Jeff Bender and a bell ceremony conducted by Capt. Rob Dickey, according to the event flier.
Later on, the third annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will start at Thunder Basin High School stadium, 4001 Saunders Boulevard, at 6 p.m., the event flier says. The climb is free for participants, though shirts will be available for purchase with all proceeds going toward local first responders.
Additionally, the 9th Annual Marine Corps League Memorial 9/11 5K will take place at Firestation 3, 3 Wegner Drive, with opening ceremonies to begin at 6 p.m.
