CODY, Wyo. — A motorcycle crash on WY 296 near Cody resulted in one fatality and another person injured.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that the incident took place at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Sept. 2 around milepost 31.75, situated on a steep grade with a sharp left curve.
Bonnie Lara, a 53-year-old Wyoming resident, was riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle westward. The motorcycle exited the travel lane to the right and struck the guardrail.
Lara, who was driving the motorcycle, was identified as the deceased.
She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Another individual sustained injuries but their condition and identity have not been disclosed at this time. The WHP cites speed as a possible contributing factor in this incident.
Road conditions were dry and weather conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
