Hoskinson Health and Wellness Clinic, or HHWC is proud to announce the addition of Karissa Morris, Licensed Professional Counselor, to its team of healthcare professionals. With her background and experience, Karissa brings a passion for helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve holistic well-being.
Karissa’s journey in the field of mental health began with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming in 2005. Over the next decade, she dedicated herself to various roles in the wellness sector, building a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. Her commitment to professional growth led her to pursue a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University, which she successfully completed in 2018.
Throughout her career, Karissa has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the Gillette community. She spent several years at the Coalition Family Health Center, where she served as a wellness coach and later expanded her expertise through advanced education. During her graduate program, Karissa’s compassion extended to housing homeless veterans through the SSVF grant and providing essential support to families in Campbell County at the YES House. She also made a significant impact at the Kid Clinic, where she provided crucial counseling services for five years.
Karissa’s journey into the mental health field was driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
“I truly feel I was drawn to this field in a two-fold process,” Karissa shared. “I was coaching adults and found that I loved working one on one with people but felt some barriers to their success were rooted much more deeply than I could access through just coaching. I also had experienced my own personal traumas and grew from them in a way I didn’t know was possible. From there, my dream of becoming a therapist was born.”
Joining Hoskinson Health and Wellness Clinic was a natural progression for Karissa’s career. After her time at the Kid Clinic, she sought to expand her horizons and focus on care for adults.
“I felt HHWC was a positive vehicle for that in addition to aligning with my beliefs of a person being a whole system; the health and wellness of a person is not separate from their mental health,” Karissa explained.
Karissa Morris’s presence at Hoskinson Health and Wellness Clinic marks a significant step forward in the clinic’s commitment to providing comprehensive counseling to the Gillette community. Her dedication, expertise and genuine care for the well-being of her clients make her an invaluable asset to HHWC’s team of healthcare professionals.
