GILLETTE, Wyo. — At its 4:30 p.m. Aug. 28 meeting, the Campbell County Public Library Board’s discussions will include the collection development policy.

The meeting will be in the Wyoming Room of the Campbell County Public Library, 2101 S. 4-J Road, Gillette.

Board chair Charles Butler said that the board is “looking for some refinements” to the collection development policy. After County 17 asked for more information, he said there was “not much more to tell, actually.” He said the board is returning to the library for the Aug. 28 meeting since it’s easier for some people.

According to the agenda, there will be updates on the special committee, hiring process for a new executive director and marketing study. The special committee is dedicated to finding a way for community members to label books with content advisories. In July and early August, Campbell County community members had the opportunity to take a questionnaire to help the library develop a revised marketing plan.

The library board on Aug. 8 named Campbell County Human Resources Director Brandy Elder the library’s interim director. The board fired Terri Lesley July 28.

With an interim director in place, the rollout of the revised collection development policy must be on hold, Elder said.
