CCMG welcomes new addition to Behavioral Health Clinic

(Campbell County Medical Group)

GILLETTE, Wyo. — On Monday, Campbell County Medical Group announced a new staff member at its Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic.

Joanie Wagner, LCSW, CAP, is a seasoned professional who brings over two decades of experience, passion and dedication to the northeast Wyoming community, per CCMG.

Hailing from East River, South Dakota, Wagner joins CCMG from Sundance, where she recently discovered an opportunity to contribute to northeast Wyoming’s mental health landscape and was drawn to the healthcare organization because of its mission to positively impact the lives of those seeking help.

Wagner is no stranger to addiction, having faced and overcome her own addiction and mental health challenges. She recognized the dire need for resources and support for individuals facing similar circumstances, per CCMG, which says Wagner’s personal triumphs serve as a beacon of inspiration to her clients.

“I want to help build rapport and trust in the community around mental health and substance abuse treatment,” Wagner said in an Aug. 21 release. “In the process of getting sober, I saw the need for people like myself to have resources and to receive a message of hope from those who have gone through similar circumstances.”

Wagner has undergone extensive training in trauma-related care and co-occurring disorders; she is currently working toward becoming a certified animal-assisted therapist, which further expands her ability to provide holistic care, CCMG says.

According to the release, Wagner’s favorite moments as a counselor involve witnessing the positive transformation of her clients.

“Seeing my clients’ growth and success is so important to me,” Wagner said in the release. “I find tremendous fulfillment in hearing people’s successes and being a part of their journey toward healing.”

Per CCMG, Wagner’s personal experiences and expertise make her an invaluable addition to the healthcare organization and the community.

“Her commitment to fostering a supportive and understanding environment aligns seamlessly with CCMG’s mission to provide comprehensive behavioral health services to the community and Excellence Every Day,” the healthcare organization said in the release.
