CASPER, Wyo. — The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office is preparing for “one last large-scale search” to locate missing woman Breanna Mitchell, Sheriff Austin T. Brookwell recently announced in a Facebook post. It has not yet been announced when this final search effort will be.

Brookwell added that there have been no recent developments in the case.

The last major lead in the search came last week, when K-9 officers found clues that there might be a deceased person in a pond within the search area. However, divers were unable to find anything and draining the pond also yielded no results.

Mitchell was last seen July 22 after her vehicle was reported stuck on Nowater Trail. The vehicle was later found abandoned over 5 miles down the rugged two-track road that winds through the badlands.
