Rainy weekend in store for Gillette area

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The coming weekend will likely be a wet one, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Today, showers are likely throughout the day, with heavy thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is expected to rise as the day unfolds, reaching an 80% likelihood by early afternoon.

Temperatures will reach a high of roughly 58 degrees today, with wind gusts of up to 28 mph making conditions feel cooler.

At night, Gillette residents can expect to see occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 7 p.m., followed by a chance of showers between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. After sundown, temperatures will reach a low of approximately 50.

Sunday will see the clouds clear during the day, as temperatures reach a high of about 72 degrees. However, Sunday night brings with it a 40% chance of thunderstorms.
