CASPER, Wyo. — The Bureau of Land Management is working with firefighting partners to contain two wildfires burning on land south of Worland, east of Thermopolis.
The Devil’s Slide Fire is 716 acres big and 70% contained. Firefighters are also fighting the 15-acre Wild Horse Butte Fire. Both were started by lightning Wednesday afternoon and are burning in grass, sagebrush and juniper.
Multiple air resources responded and firefighters assisted from the Hot Springs and Washakie county fire departments, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs and National Park Service.
