Campbell County releases results of Fourth of July contests

This afternoon, Campbell County Parks and Recreation released the results of several Fourth of July activities that took place in Gillette this morning.

GILLETTE, Wyo. — This afternoon, Campbell County Parks and Recreation released the results of several Fourth of July activities that took place in Gillette this morning, along with some photos.

Gillette Physical Therapy’s 4-mile run/walk

Post-parade activities:

Strongwoman challenge:

  1. Sarah Rhoden: 290 points
  2. Victoria Reyes and Loreana Mendenhill: 260 points. Reyes broke the tie with a boulder throw of 8 feet, 1 inch, compared with Mendenhill’s throw of 7 feet, 10 inches.

Strongman challenge:

  1. David Hodge: 270 points. He broke a tie with two boulder throw-offs. The first was 6 feet, 7 inches, and the second was 7 feet, 3 inches.
  2. Chris Day: 270 points. He broke a tie with two boulder throw-offs. The first was 6 feet, 7 inches, and the second was 5 feet.
  3. Corey Mayer: 260 points

Pie Eating Contests:

  • First round: Shawn Curtis
  • Second round: Serenity Curtis
  • Third round: Lilia Gerster
  • Fourth round: Alaina Hudspeth
  • Fifth round: Anthony Garza
  • Sixth round: Tiffany O’Neil

Mud volleyball

Correction and clarification, July 5: Corey Mayer won third place in the strongman competition, Campbell County Parks and Recreation Office Manager-Operations Darla Cotton said July 5. The original information from the department stated Chris Day won second place and third place. The article above has been corrected. Cotton also said in her July 4 email that Campbell County Parks and Recreation didn’t get some pictures of the winners due to the rain.
