GILLETTE, Wyo. — According to a flyer that Campbell County posted to Facebook on June 30, Campbell County has several activities planned for the Fourth of July:
- 6 to 9 a.m.: Pancake feed at Campbell County Fire Department’s administrative headquarters, located at 106 Rohan Ave., Gillette
- 7:15 a.m.: Gillette Physical Therapy’s 4-mile run/walk event at Bicentennial Park’s soccer fields. Participants must register by 6:45 a.m. for the event, which is located at 300 W. Warlow Drive, Gillette. There will also be several other activities at the park starting at noon.
- 10:30 a.m.: A 2nd Street parade, which will start at Osborne Avenue and move west toward Burma Avenue in downtown Gillette, Campbell County said in a Facebook comment. Parade announcers this year will be stationed near Record Distributing at 101 Carey Ave.; Braccetto’s Salon at 101 E. 2nd St.; the American Legion Post 42 at 200 Rockpile Blvd.; and the Rockpile Museum at 900 W. 2nd St. There will be a B-1B Lancer flyover at about 11:10 a.m.
- 10 p.m.: Fireworks at CAM-PLEX, 1635 Reata Drive. (CAM-PLEX’s Facebook event, however, as of 5:27 p.m. July 1, lists the show time as 9:30 p.m. County 17 has reached out to CAM-PLEX, Campbell County, Campbell County Parks and Recreation and the City of Gillette to verify the time and will update the time upon verification. In 2022, the show was scheduled for 10 p.m.)
All events will be held regardless of rain, and no registration is necessary for the children’s games, Campbell County said in Facebook comments.
The city of Gillette said trash pickup that’s scheduled for July 4 will take place July 5 instead. Solid waste crews on July 5 will pick up trash, yard waste and recycling for Tuesday and Wednesday routes.
