GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Gillette Community Theatre will bring its adaptation of Shubert Fendrich’s melodrama “Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch” to the Cam-Plex Heritage Center Theater starting June 16.

The play finds the hero, Harry Heartstone, in hot pursuit of the villainous outlaw — and coincidentally his twin brother — Snipe Vermin at the Roaring Gulch Hotel. Other characters include a lovely lady sheriff, an evil proprietress, an outlaw sidekick and a stranded actress, according to GCT.

“And before the play is over, you just know there’s going to be a shoot-out,” GCT says.

Jude Dodd, a voting member of the GCT Board, says the play is an opportunity for the community to come out and “boo” the bad guy while cheering the good guys and fawning over the heroine.

“Everyone is welcome to throw popcorn at our bad guy,” Dodd joked, adding that the doors open to the public tonight at 6 p.m. with the show in full swing at 7.

Tickets cost $10 per adult, $8 for seniors and military, and $5 for children 12 and under, according to Dodd.

More performances are scheduled throughout the Father’s Day weekend. There will be a matinee showing on June 17 at 3:30 p.m. as well as an evening showing later at 7 p.m.

On Father’s Day, admission is half-off for fathers, with the show starting at 3:30 p.m., Dodd said, which should give fathers ample time to go out and celebrate the day with their families afterward.
