GILLETTE, Wyo. — Wyoming will hold a free federal funding summit from June 12 through June 15 at Sheridan College Whitney Center for the Arts, 1 Whitney Way, Sheridan.
While registration for a grant writing intensive June 12–13 has closed, the federal funding overview and seminar June 14–15 still has some open slots, a news release from Gov. Mark Gordon and U.S. senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis said. The summit includes free professional instruction, access to agency representatives and other resources for governments and non-government organizations to apply for and obtain federal funding from. Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Energy, Economic Development Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency and state partners will help explain the federal funding process.
“Their assistance is invaluable and will be a huge benefit for federal funding seekers in Wyoming,” the release said.
Registration is required for in-person attendance. Wyomingites can also tune in remotely, though organizers recommend in-person attendance. Information on virtual options is available here.
“While Senator Barrasso and Senator Lummis did not support final passage of the Infrastructure, Investment & Jobs Act or the Inflation Reduction Act, both senators are committed to ensuring Wyoming communities and citizens have fair access to the programs their tax dollars are helping to fund,” the release said.
There will also be discussion on those laws, technical assistance and grant management, along with an open house with federal agency representatives, the release said. At the open house, participants can bring federal officials projects, questions and ideas.
