GILLETTE, Wyo. — Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect who is believed to have stolen thousands of dollars in copper wire from a business earlier this month.
The theft is believed to have occurred in the early morning hours of June 3, when an unidentified man was observed taking approximately 300 feet of three-quarter-inch wire from an electrical services business on Mohan Road, according to Gillette Police Capt. Jason Marcus.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect parking a 1990s-style dual Dodge pickup in a neighboring storage facility, uncoiling the wire, cutting it into 100- to 150-foot lengths and pulling the cut wire over the fence, Marcus said.
The wire was valued at $2,799, according to Marcus.
