GILLETTE, Wyo. — Wyomingites can see the work of fiber artisans this summer at the seven stops of the Sixth Annual Cowboy Yarn Crawl.

The event showcases the talent and craftsmanship of local yarn shops and a renowned wool mill while celebrating the heritage of the state’s fiber arts industry, according to a May 30 news release. Each shop has its own distinctive character and selection of high-quality fibers.

“From cozy mountain towns to lively artistic hubs, these yarn shops represent the diverse tapestry of Wyoming’s fiber arts community,” the release said.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Cowboy Yarn Crawl participants can collect stamps and stitch markers from each site they visit on their fiber-filled adventure, the release said. Those who complete the crawl can win prizes from local businesses and sponsors. The summer will also include events and workshops that range from knitting circles and crochet classes to spinning demonstrations and dyeing workshops, where attendees can learn new techniques, connect with fellow yarn enthusiasts and gain insights from experienced artisans.

“The Cowboy Yarn Crawl is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit,
offering a truly immersive experience for fiber lovers of all skill levels,” the release said.
