C17 Crime Clips for Wednesday, May 24

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a brief summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.  

Probation violation, May 23, Gillette, GPD

Officers responded to a Gillette residence after a 38-year-old woman found a 19-year-old man with her 15-year-old daughter around 6:34 a.m. yesterday morning, Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. The man is on probation and is restricted from communicating with juveniles. He reportedly met the girl on social media and left the residence before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

Medical call, May 23, Edwards Road, CCSO

A man not identified was transported to the hospital yesterday for work-related injuries after he was struck in the head by a 10-inch water pipe holding water at 95 psi around 8:25 a.m., Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. The man had been working in the area of Edwards Road and Matheson Road, and his condition is currently unknown.

Child neglect, May 23, Wigwam Boulevard, GPD

Officers responded to Wigam Boulevard after a 22-year-old woman called to report her 3-year-old daughter had suffered heat exhaustion while in the care of her grandmother around 5:33 p.m., Wasson said. The woman also raised concerns over unsanitary living conditions at the Wigwam Boulevard address. The Wyoming Department of Family Services will be following up.

Theft, May 24, Falcon Avenue, CCSO

A green Ford F-150 was reported stolen from Falcon Avenue at 5 a.m., Reynolds said. The owner said spare keys had been left in the center console and they had last seen the vehicle around 9 p.m. on May 23. Neighbors reported seeing an unidentified man enter the vehicle around 10:30 p.m. The vehicle has been logged as stolen.

DWUI, May 24, I-90, CCSO

Deputies responded to Interstate 90 near mile marker 144 after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a blue Ford F-250 driving on the wrong side of the interstate around 5:18 a.m., Reynolds said. A 22-year-old man was located and stopped near mile marker 132. He had an alcohol container in the vehicle and admitted to consuming alcohol. The man was arrested for DWUI after failing field sobriety tests.
