CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A grand jury has charged a Casper woman on the suspicion of committing arson on a women’s health clinic that planned to offer abortions as one of its services.
Lorna Roxanne Green was indicted on May 17 by a grand jury in the District of Wyoming for damaging a Casper abortion clinic by use of fire on May 25, 2022.
On May 25 at about 3:49 a.m., Casper Police Department officers responded to the Wellspring Health Access Clinic. Officers saw smoke coming from the east side of the building and dispatched the Casper Fire Department, which responded and extinguished the fire.
Through witness accounts and video surveillance, investigators identified a suspect who had gained entry by breaking a window, pouring gasoline in the facility and then leaving just prior to the reporting party calling in suspicious activity. On March 3, 2023, the Casper Police Department, with the assistance of an anonymous donor, issued a press release soliciting the public for leads in the case, with an additional $10,000 reward.
Shortly thereafter, several tipsters identified Green as the suspect, which led to the filing of charges after additional investigation.
Green was arrested on March 21, 2023, in Casper by the Casper Police Department, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. She is currently out on a $10,000 signature bond.
