GILLETTE, Wyo. — The deadline for many resident and nonresident hunters to get their applications in for multiple big game species this hunting season is approaching, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
Hunters have until midnight May 31 to get their applications in for resident elk, deer, antelope, beaver, fall turkey, sandhill crane and springer special pheasant hunts, Game and Fish says.
“Don’t wait until the last minute to apply for licenses. If you have questions, we want to help you,” Jennifer Doering, Game and Fish license section manager, said in a May 22 press release.
For turkey, crane, and other big game species, hunters can make use of the Wyoming Game and Fish Hunt Planner, which can help them with their applications through interactive, in-depth mapping, per Game and Fish.
The planner allows hunters to see an overview of all the hunt areas in the state and choose individual areas to explore; different colors designate public and private lands and hunters can see public and county roads, as well as other features, Game and Fish says.
“All applications must be made online by midnight MDT May 31,” Game and Fish says. “For those who may not have access to a computer or need assistance applying, Game and Fish has computer stations at each of the regional offices and at the Cheyenne Headquarters.”
