GILLETTE, Wyo. — Drivers out and about this morning may have to contend with areas of patchy fog. However, once the fog lifts, visibility may still be challenged by areas of patchy smoke.

The smoke will come from Canadian wildfires, and much of Wyoming could see smoke at some point today.

Fog and smoke aside, Gillette can expect to see a high of 64 degrees today. Winds will come from the west at 6–11 mph and later turn to come from the north at 13–18 mph.

Patchy smoke may continue into tonight as skies clear and the low falls to around 39, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota. Winds from the north will fall off after midnight.

The sun will come out again Friday, through the weekend and into the next work week. Friday will see a high of 71, increasing to 79 on Saturday and Sunday and rising to 83 on Monday. Overnight lows will rise from 47 to 55 degrees. Nighttime skies will remain mostly clear, the forecast says.
