GILLETTE, Wyo. — Eight local high school students were recently awarded scholarships by Campbell County Health, the healthcare organization announced Wednesday.
Sophia Wagner, Shantel Smith, Kiara Schofield and Hallie Cole were awarded the Board of Trustees Scholarship. Samatha Hill, Carlie Niemitalo, Jayden Snyder and Jillian Bankenbush were awarded the Volunteer Services Scholarship, CCH says.
Board of Trustees scholarships are given to Campbell County students pursuing a healthcare career each year. The scholarships are for $5,000; past recipients have gone on to become registered nurses, physical therapists, exercise physiologists and doctors, per CCH.
The annual $1,500 Volunteer Services Scholarships are awarded to CCH Junior Volunteer program students. These students serve primarily in the summer and learn valuable skills like customer service and the value of helping others, according to CCH.
“The eight scholarship recipients exemplify the spirit of CCH and Campbell County, and we are proud to support them in cultivating their future success and excellence,” CCH says.
