GILLETTE, Wyo. — A chance for thunderstorms and rain returns today and Wednesday, with the greatest chance over the latter.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, says Gillette should see a high of 75 degrees today under sunny skies. A 30% chance for rain creeps into the forecast between 3 and 4 p.m. That’ll be when the winds shift from the south to the north. Gusts could reach 20 mph.
Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low near 49. Expect breezy conditions with a north wind of 15–20 mph.

The best chance for rain this week will happen on Wednesday. There’s a 60% chance for storms — possibly strong ones — to spin up in and around Gillette. The day will start off partly sunny and get to a high of around 70, the forecast says. Wednesday night will continue to be mostly cloudy with a low near 46.
Rain chances fall off for the remainder of the week, and that will lead to a warm, dry weekend for the region, according to the forecast. There’s a 20% chance for showers Thursday, with every day after that through the weekend being sunny. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid-40s.
