GILLETTE, Wyo. — A 9-year-old girl was flown to an out-of-state medical facility for treatment after being struck by a pickup on East 5th Street yesterday afternoon, Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said Tuesday.
The girl was riding her bicycle on East 5th Street and entered the roadway where she was struck by a westbound 2020 GMC pickup being driven by a 35-year-old man around 4:31 p.m. May 15, Wasson said.
Initially, the girl was transported to Campbell County Health for treatment, but she was later flown to Denver, Colorado, for injuries sustained in the crash, according to Wasson.
Wasson did not have an update on the girl’s condition on May 16 and said that the crash itself remains an active investigation.
