Gillette Police respond to potential firearm at Twin Spruce Junior High

UPDATE: “The incident that led to a law enforcement response to Twin Spruce Junior High School this afternoon was investigated,” Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said at 5:36 p.m. April 6. “No credible threat was found.”

GILLETTE, Wyo. – Officers have responded to Twin Spruce Junior High for the report of firearms inside a student locker, according to Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson.

The report originated from a student who mentioned the possibility of a firearm, or firearms, inside a locker within the school, Wasson told County 17 April 6. 

As of 1:13 p.m., police officers have not identified a threat and the school is operating normally, Wasson said.
