GILLETTE, Wyo. – There’s likely to be a new Municipal Court judge following the Gillette City Council meeting next week.
City leaders are scheduled to consider employing Joshua B. Taylor as their newest Municipal Court Judge during their meeting on April 4, who will be sworn in by Campbell County Circuit Court Judge Wendy Bartlett, according to the current council agenda.
Taylor’s employment agreement with the City of Gillette will take effect on April 3 and will continue by appointment each year until terminated with an annual salary of $120,000, per the agenda.
Currently, Judge Charlie Anderson oversees the Municipal Court for the City of Gillette on an interim basis, a position he has filled since Jeremy Michaels chose not to seek re-appointment to the position at the start of 2023, according to City Public Affairs Director Jennifer Toscana.
Correction (4/1/2023): A previous version of this story based on information publicly available on the City of Gillette website incorrectly stated that Jeremy Michaels was serving as a Municipal Court Judge. Currently, the position is filled by Judge Charlie Anderson on an interim basis.
