(OPINION) Letter: Southern Poverty Law Center lacks credibility

"Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, the Southern Poverty Law Center is not anymore about law and justice than Wyoming Equality is about equality and fairness," Dean Vomhof writes.

Dear Gillette,

I would like to respond to the article on the County 17 site on March 28 in regard to the library Boards Collection policy by Mary Stroka. She stated the Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled Liberty Council a hate group. I do not think the Southern Poverty Law has any credibility.

My reason for this is the new $90 million police and fire training facility along with construction equipment were set ablaze with fire bombs as well as fireworks, bricks and other objects March 5, 2023. One of the arrested was Thomas Jurgen, who is a staff attorney at the Southern Poverty Law Center. He was charged with domestic terrorism.

In a statement, the Southern Poverty Law Center doubled down in defending him saying: “Jurgen identified as a legal observer and a member of the National Lawyers guild (another arm of SPLC).”

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, the Southern Poverty Law Center is not anymore about law and justice than Wyoming Equality is about equality and fairness. They both have a leftist agenda that includes destroying the family, lies, half-truths and vandalism to anyone that questions their motives as in the vandalism of a local church in Gillette.
