Theft, March 14, Hannum Road, CCSO

Deputies responded to Hannum Road around 9:19 a.m. yesterday after a 34-year-old man called to report his dog was missing from his residence, according to Campbell County Sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Maul. When they arrived, the dog was seen inside its kennel.

Property destruction, March 14, W. Echeta Road, CCSO

A 67-year-old man called the sheriff’s office at 1:54 p.m. yesterday to report damage done to an “area structure” on W. Echeta Road, Maul said. It someone, or something, had cut apart portions of the structure, resulting in around $500 in damage. As of March 15, it is unclear what caused the damage.

Burglary, March 14, Fortification Road, CCSO

Deputies arrested a 45-year-old man for burglary after allegedly catching him with a flame safety cabinet that was reported stolen from a compressor station on Fortification Road around 3:43 p.m., Maul said. A witness in the area reported seeing the man enter the station, a building that he was not allowed entry into, and then leave the area in a white work truck. Deputies responded to the man’s residence and conducted a traffic stop as he was leaving. The cabinet was observed in the vehicle’s cab, Maul said, and the man was taken into custody after he admitted to taking it.

Hit and run, March 14, Highway 59, CCSO

A 26-year-old woman called the sheriff’s office at 3:50 p.m. after she was rear-ended by a black Nissan Armada at the intersection of Union Chapel Road and Highway 59, Maul said. The suspect vehicle, a blue Toyota 4-Runner, failed to stop and the 26-year-old woman followed it on Highway 59 until it was located and stopped by deputies near Edwards Road. The Toyota driver, also a 26-year-old woman, was cited for failing to stop after a crash.

Theft, March 14, Hitt Boulevard, CCSO

Deputies responded to Water System’s Drilling on Hitt Boulevard around 4:58 p.m. after an employee called to report someone stole a roll of pump cable valued at $35,000, Maul said. The theft is believed to have occurred on March 5, and the investigation is currently ongoing.

DWUI, March 15, Highway 14-16, CCSO

A 23-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving around 1:40 a.m. after he was stopped for driving without headlights near Skyline Drive and Highway 14-16, Maul said. The man was operating a Toyota Scion and displayed signs of impairment during the stop. He performed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for his performance. Deputies secured a warrant for a blood draw after he reportedly refused to consent to a breath test.
