GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Salvation Army Gillette Wyoming Service Center will celebrate a grand opening open house at its new location, 209 Stocktrail Ave., Gillette, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25.
“The new location improves access to new and existing clients, enabling The Salvation Army to expand our services, increase the number of those whom we serve, and plan for future opportunities to support the community,” a news release from the organization said.
Pizza Ranch will provide lunch. The event includes live music. Gillette Center Coordinator Jenny Hartung and The Salvation Army Intermountain Divisional Secretary Maj. Richard Pease will lead a ribbon-cutting at 12:30 p.m.
The Salvation Army’s Gillette office used to be at 620 N. Highway 14-16, Gillette.
The Salvation Army’s social services include providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children.
About 82 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide, the release said.
Hartung said all local monies stay local.
