Gillette College team starts out with March 17 rodeo

Gillette College Rodeo Team will host its first rodeo of the spring March 17 to 19 at CAM-PLEX.

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Gillette College Rodeo Team will host its first rodeo of the spring March 17 to 19 at CAM-PLEX, 1635 Reata Drive, Gillette.

The event will also include food and entertainment.

Some of the rodeo times are free to attend. Others require $5 ticket purchase at the door. Children under age 5 have free admission at each show:

  • 1 p.m. March 17 free admission
  • 7 p.m. March 17 $5 admission
  • 8 a.m. March 18 free admission
  • 1 p.m. March 18 $5 admission
  • 10 a.m. March 19 $5 admission

“We are proud to bring college rodeo to the town of Gillette and showcase our hometown,” an announcement of the event said.

The Gillette College rodeo is one of the 10 National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Central Rocky Mountain rodeos.

As of the last rodeo of the fall 2022 season, Gillette College’s women’s team topped the chart of rodeos, the association said.
