GILLETTE, Wyo. — Thunder Basin High School Vocal Music Teacher Kimbrie Garcia and Campbell County High School Choir Director Mandi Steele led the sixth-grade all-district honor choir in a concert March 2 at CAM-PLEX.

Pieces included “Why We Sing.” Students from across the district were nominated and invited to participate, Steele said. Students rehearsed at their individual schools, outside of class time, to prepare to come together with their peers from other schools, she said.

Garcia said there will be other performing arts events in the next week as well that the public’s welcome to attend, they said.

Sage Valley Junior High and Thunder Basin High School will perform a band concert at 7 p.m. March 6 at Thunder Basin High School, 4001 Saunders Blvd., Gillette. All high schools and middle schools will perform a concert at the CAM-PLEX’s Heritage Center from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 7.

The CAM-PLEX is at 1635 Reata Drive, Gillette.

Clarification, March 6: The Sage Valley & Thunder Basin band concert will be March 6, not March 7. The date was originally, mistakenly left out, leaving readers to logically conclude that both events were scheduled to occur March 7. The story above reflects the sentence structure change.
