LARAMIE, Wyo. — For the fourth time this season, Malene Pedersen was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, following a pair of strong showings against Utah State and Air Force.
Pedersen averaged 11.5 points, 5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in UW’s pair of wins. Against the Utah State Aggies, Pedersen scored 12 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out a trio of assists while shooting 2-of-5 from 3-point range. Against Air Force, Pedersen shot 5-for-6 from the floor to go for 11 points while also adding four boards and four assists.
This is the second time in the past three weeks Pedersen has received the honor. Prior to that, she took home the award Dec. 12 and Jan. 9.
Pedersen and the rest of the Cowgirls hit the road for the final time during the regular season this week, traveling to New Mexico Thursday and San Diego State Saturday.
