GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Library Board of Trustees will have a workshop meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Wyoming Room of the Campbell County Public Library, 2101 S. 4-J Road, Gillette.
The board will continue its review of the Collection Development Policy. No public comment will be taken during this meeting, the event posting said.
In its last workshop meeting, which was Jan. 5, the board reviewed the first 60 pages of the 103-page document. Changes primarily involved the elimination of references to the ALA. The board also said patrons who have asked library staff to remove or delete a library book from a library collection and wish to appeal to the Library Board after receiving notice of the library director’s decision on the item will have 20 days to make that appeal. They reached the policy section dedicated to children’s collections. Board Chair Sage Bear said Jan. 5 that once the board has reviewed the whole policy together, it’ll post a document detailing the revisions. Then, the board will vote on them at a public meeting.
Teen Room reopens
In other library news, Campbell County Public Library announced this afternoon in a Facebook post that the Teen Room is now open. The room had been closed for carpet replacement, as the library’s basement flooded in September 2022 following a water main break.
