GILLETTE, Wyo. — After weeks of chilly temperatures and cloudy skies, the sun will come out and it will come out all week long.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, has forecast sunny and mostly clear skies through Saturday with Friday seeing the most clouds. This is thanks to a developing warm front extending southeast from low pressure over eastern Montana, meteorologists said in forecast discussion.
Today will be the coolest day of the rest of the week with a forecast high of 24 degrees. Wind chills will dip to -16 as winds come from the southwest at 13 to 18 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 9. Wind chills will warm to -2 amid a southwest wind 10 to 13 mph.
Wednesday will see temperatures near freezing with a high of 31. Despite continued winds from the southwest of 9 to 13 mph, wind chills will continue to ease to 2 degrees. Some clouds will filter in on Wednesday night as the low falls to 17 degrees. Wind chills will be around 10 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
The sun will come out again Thursday as the high warms to 36 degrees, and Friday, despite clouds, will see a high near 40. Saturday will follow suit with a high near 38, according to the latest forecast.
