First deadline for 2023 Wyoming hunting season approaching

The application deadline for resident and nonresident spring turkey, as well as nonresident elk and Super Tag Raffle tickets, is on Jan. 31 at 12 midnight.

GILLETTE, Wyo. – Only hours remain before the first big deadline for the 2023 Wyoming hunting season with several applications due by midnight tonight, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. 

According to game and fish, applications for nonresident elk and both resident and nonresident spring turkey need to be submitted on Jan. 31 by 12 midnight. 

Applications for a chance to win the Wyoming Super Tag Raffle- a highly sought-after opportunity consisting of one license drawing for bighorn sheep, moose, elk, mountain goat, wild bison, deer, antelope, mountain lion, gray wolf, or black bear- are also due on Jan. 31 by 12 midnight, game and fish says. 

Additionally, the Super Tag Trifecta is one drawing and the winner can choose three tags from the species’ offered, according to the WGFD. 

Super Tag tickets are $10 and Super Tag Trifecta tickets are $30, game and fish says, adding that all hunters who enter the Super Tag raffle in January will be entered into a bonus raffle for an OSCAR8 Spotting Scope donated by Sig Sauer.
