CASPER, Wyo. — According to a source for the Associated Press, the Denver Broncos have recently agreed to a deal with New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton that will make him the Broncos’ head coach in the coming NFL season.
While at the helm for the Saints, Payton’s team went 152-89 in 15 seasons and 9-8 in the playoffs, winning a Super Bowl after the 2009 season.
The Broncos went 5-12 in 2022 and fired rookie coach Nathaniel Hackett on Dec. 26 after going 4-11. Interim coach Jerry Rosburg went 1-1.
