GILLETTE, Wyo. — A video posted today by the YouTube channel Fun Apna shows the aftermath of the multi-vehicle wreck that occurred Saturday, backing up traffic for several miles and shutting the interstate down for hours as emergency personnel tended to the scene.
The video is comprised of multiple clips, many of which show traffic at a complete standstill and backed up nearly to the horizon. The final clip is from inside of a trailer truck as it comes to a stop due to the traffic.
According to the Wyoming Department of Transportation, a total of 44 vehicles collided between two separate crashes on I-80 in Carbon County. There were multiple injuries reported with these crashes and one confirmed fatality.
