GILLETTE, Wyo. — Wagonwheel Elementary kindergarten students sang and danced tonight at CAM-PLEX to perform “Snowmen at Night.”

They performed 10 songs from the book, which was written and illustrated by Carolyn and Mark Buehner.

Music teacher Sonja Brue directed the performance, with assistance from accompanist Diana Larson and Principal Eric Stremcha, who served as narrator.

Songs included traditional favorites like “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” “London Bridge,” “Jingle Bells” and “Frosty the Snowman.” The production also included a song about snowballs, to the tune of a piece by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Brue said the students began practicing some of the songs in the fall. Others, like the Christmas-themed ones, they learned in December.

Stremcha said Brue has taught for 16 years.

“She’s fantastic in what she does with kids,” he said.

He said typically he enjoys simply listening to the performance, but Brue asked him this time to be the narrator.

“It was fun,” he said.
