GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County Rockpile Museum has postponed Museum at the Bighorns Collections Manager Jessica Salzman’s presentation on the life of Edward Gillette.

The event was originally scheduled to take place Jan. 26.

“Our main priority is the safety of our speaker and guests, so due to the weather and road conditions, tomorrow night’s event will be postponed,” Rockpile Museum Educator Brittney Elsasser said in an email today.

The event is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 2.

In “Edward Gillette: A New Englander Comes West,” Salzman will discuss how Gillette was pivotal to the development of the railroad that changed the face of northern Wyoming and how he left his mark on Sheridan’s history, the museum’s news release said.

Salzman graduated in 2012 with a master’s degree in museum science from Texas Tech University and previously worked at the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo. She has been in her current position since 2020.
