GILLETTE, Wyo. — The AVA Community Art Center will host the 21st Annual Art Auction and Fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 28.

The two-day gala fundraiser begins with a preview reception on Friday at 6 p.m. at the AVA Community Center, 509 W. 2nd St. The reception is open to the public and will include light hor d’oeuvres, cocktails and art.

The gala and art auction is at 6 p.m. Saturday at Cam-Plex Energy Hall, 1635 Reata Drive.

The gala will feature 45 individual artworks from artists from Wyoming as well as artists from across the country. The pieces were personally judged and selected by renowned Wyoming artist Bob Coronato.

The event will also host a live auction and silent auction where participants can bid on the artwork on display. A mountain vacation package in Banff National Park and a New Orleans jazz culinary vacation tour from Philantopia will also be auctioned off. Lastly, gala goers will also be able to bid on unique gift baskets filled with a variety of handmade items and gift cards from Gillette small businesses.

All proceeds from the event will go to supporting community artists and the AVA Community Center.

AVA Executive Director Quinn Goldhammer said this year’s lineup of artists is one of the best the AVA Community Art Center has ever curated.

“This is going to be an amazing show this year because we have such a variety of amazing local and non-local artists,” Goldhammer said. “We had 150 submissions this year and we had the challenge of getting that down to 45 amazing art selections ranging from traditional Western artwork to conventional curveballs such as mixed media pieces. The selection of art is amazing.”

She added that AVA’s Annual Art Auction and Fundraiser is an important event to help the organization achieve its goal of being a hub for artists in Campbell County.

“Our lifelong mission is supporting artists and putting them at the forefront of our community,” Goldhammer said. “This Gala helps us raise money to support budding new artists and experienced ones in our community.
