Sun, seasonal temps ahead of weekend chance for snow

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Sunshine and seasonal temperatures will hang around through the weekend ahead of a Sunday chance for snow.

Upper lows over the region will shift east today leaving clear, sunny skies as the high reaches 34 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota. Winds will come from the west at 8 to 13 mph with gusts reaching 20 mph. That will push wind chills down to around 11 degrees.

Heading into tonight, clouds will roll in for a mostly cloudy night as the low drops to around 19. West winds will continue at 8 to 13 mph but gusts may pick up to 18 mph, the forecast states.

Friday will be partly sunny with a high near 32. Wind chills may dip to 13 as winds come from the northwest at 8 to 11 mph and gusts reach 17 mph. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with a low near 19.

Just ahead of Sunday’s chance for snow, Saturday should see its high return to 34 degrees under partly sunny skies. Winds from the west will pick up to 10 to 14 mph with gusts to 21 mph, and that will continue into the overnight as the low drops to around 22.

There’s a 50% chance for snow Sunday as the high returns to 32 degrees. Blowing snow will be possible as blustery conditions are expected.
