GILLETTE, Wyo. – In four days’ time, inspired chili enthusiasts will go head to head at the Cam-Plex for the 36th Annual Charity Chili Cook-off to raise funds for the Council of Community Services and Youth Emergency Services, Inc.
This year, the date of the cook-off has been set for Saturday, Jan. 21, where contestants will compete in one, some, or all of the five available categories: red chili, green chili, guacamole, salsa, and other, according to an event flier on the YES House Foundation website.
As of Jan. 16, nearly 40 chili, guacamole, and salsa teams have entered the contest, according to the event’s social media page.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door with children 10 and under free. Residents may also pay $20 for the VIP session where they can taste all contestants’ chili away from the crowds between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., per the YES House Foundation.
The doors will be open to the public from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with concessions provided by Ice Cream Cafe and entertainment, this year, provided by Zack Scott who will perform live music from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to the website.
