GILLETTE, Wyo. – Four residents of Ward 3 have put their names in so far to be interviewed for a seat on the Gillette City Council, the city clerk’s office confirmed Tuesday.
As of Jan. 10, days before the application window closes, residents Ed Sisti, Abraham Van Horn, Ernest Gibson, and Richard Cone have applied to represent Ward 3 on the city council, according to the City of Gillette.
The seat for which they applied was left vacant by Mayor Shay Lundvall after his successful mayoral bid in the 2022 election, during which Sisti was defeated by Councilmember Heidi Gross.
The City of Gillette will continue to accept entries from applicants until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, and plans to interview the candidates during their meeting on Jan. 17.
Following the interview process, the council expects to appoint one of the applicants to fill the vacant seat.
