GILLETTE, Wyo. — Dawn Marie Hodges is joining Campbell County Health as vice president of Human Resources beginning Jan. 9, the hospital announced today.
Hailing from Grand Junction, Colorado, Hodges has over 25 years of experience in human resources — most recently as administrative director of Human Resources at Grand River Hospital District in Rifle, Colorado. Staying out west was essential to both Hodges and her husband, but more important was finding a place with a strong sense of community.
“One of the things important to my husband and me was finding a place that had a very community feeling,” Hodges said. “When I visited Gillette to interview for this position, every person in the community I met was friendly, inviting, and caring — it was amazing.”
Hodges is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional. She said Human Resources is her passion; she enjoys Human Resources’ fast and ever-changing pace. Hodges also enjoys the opportunity to interact with employees across the organization regularly.
“You constantly have to learn in HR, which I truly enjoy,” she said. “You get to meet every new employee, regularly interact with employees, help departments thrive and grow, and help the organization grow.
When not at work, Hodges and her husband love anything outdoors related, such as hiking, fishing, camping, and photography. This love for the outdoors is one of the reasons Hodges was so interested in coming to Gillette.
Hodges’ extensive track record of experience and success does not stop at human resources; also important to her and a point of pride is her 29 years of marriage to her husband.
“We [Dawn and her husband] had our 29th wedding anniversary this past August,” Hodges said. “It’s something significant to me and an accomplishment I’m truly proud of.”
“CCH is excited and honored to welcome someone with so much experience, enthusiasm, and passion to the CCH family and the broader Gillette community,” the release states. “We know that Dawn will embody Excellence Every Day and help bring CCH closer to realizing our vision of becoming the first choice for healthcare in Wyoming in her new role as Vice-President of Human Resources.”
