GILLETTE, Wyo. — An organization focused on fostering positivity and happiness among youth is holding a fundraiser New Year’s Eve at Gillette College Technical Education Center, 3251 S. 4-J Road, Gillette.

Happy Girls Don’t Do That’s gala fundraiser will feature games and dancing, along with a midnight champagne toast.

Proceeds support scholarships and funding to empower and educate youth on gratitude and positivity through building more chapters and scholarships to participate in the organization, said MaLinda Perry, who’s the Gallup Certified Strengths Coach at the helm of Happy Girls Don’t Do That. Through the organization, youth engage in helping develop themselves personally and contribute to their communities and the world.

Perry said Dec. 27 that tickets are still available for the event.

“The Great Gatsby” isn’t just a fun theme, she said. Some of author F. Scott Fitzgerald’s quotes align with what her organization stands for. For example, Fitzgerald said, “It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light, it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Event organizers request attendees don their best Roaring 20’s attire. The event begins at 8 p.m. Dec. 31 and ends at 1 a.m. Jan. 1.

Call Perry at 307-689-8505 for tickets or more information.
