GILLETTE, Wyo. — United States Energy Association will hold a webinar from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday on how energy, climate adaptation and transitions between primary energy sources must include Tribes and Tribal communities.
Tribes have been at the forefront of energy security, especially in the production of uranium, coal, oil and gas, and electricity through hydropower, the webinar description said.
“Just like in the past, we will continue to play an important and integral role in that production as well as in new production of Rare Earth and Critical Minerals, Hydrogen and Ammonia, and in other primary energy sources,” the webinar description said. “Not only do we have a role to play in continuing to provide Energy Security for our Nation, tribes have a role to play with our neighbors, Canada and Mexico, in our relations with other Indigenous Peoples of those countries, especially in the critical regions along our borders.”
The webinar is the first in a series of six on Tribal Energy, the energy transition and the role of Tribal Energy.
Speakers are SHASTA Advisors President Daniel Cardenas, Crow Tribe Energy/Water Resources Director Conrad “C.J.” Stewart, Pacific NorthWest Economic Region CEO Matt Morrison and Idaho National Laboratory Director John Wagner.
