Campbell County Fire Dept. Report (9/26/2022)

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the following incidents on Monday, Sept. 26:

  • At 7:03 a.m. to the 500 block of Running W Drive for a natural gas odor. Firefighters used atmospheric monitors and detected elevated levels of gas. Firefighters worked with Black Hills Energy on evacuating and ventilating the commercial structure and locating the source of the leak. Crews were on scene for approximately two hours before the building was able to be reoccupied.
  • At 1:31 a.m. to Stanley Avenue for an emergency medical response. Firefighters provided patient care on scene.
  • At 3:24 a.m. to Cliff Davis Drive for an activated fire alarm. CCFD was canceled prior to arriving on scene.
  • At 7:47 p.m. to the 100 block of westbound I-90 for a pickup fire. Firefighters arrived to a pickup with a large amount of fire coming from the engine compartment and driver side tire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and contained it from spreading into the interior. The fire was caused by a malfunction within the driver wheel and engine area.

Year to date the Campbell County Fire Department has responded to 2,022 requests for service.
