Applications are due Sept. 28 for Gillette library reference services job

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Applications are due at 5 p.m. Sept. 28 for a position at Campbell County Public Library.

The library announced Sept. 22 that it’s hiring a full-time Reference Services Specialist. The person will help patrons locate information so they can become informed and independent users of the library’s printed and electronic resources, the job description said. The Reference Services Specialist will connect the community to library resources, especially digital ones, and guide and instruct patrons on emerging technology.

The schedule will require evenings, alternating Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and occasional Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

The pay grade is 107.

As of July 2, the range of pay for Grade 107 positions is $46,176 to $71,156.80 for exempt employees and $22.20 to $34.21 hourly wages for non-exempt employees. The midpoint for employees is $58,666.40 or $28.21 per hour. (City of Gillette)

Qualified candidates will have one to three years of experience in a library or educational setting. They will also have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in library science, natural/physical science, social science or a closely related field.

The person will need to be able to lift an average of 20 pounds and push and pull loaded book carts, lift and carry audiovisual equipment and library materials, and stand for extended periods of time. The individual will need to be able to become a notary public upon beginning work.
